Wow! (Again)
The first six months of 2025 have been exciting at Ilarion Seniors Residence. Our Team!
Nothing would happen at Ilarion Seniors Residence without a great team of employees. I would like to acknowledge our “team”. In my year-end report, I stated that I had an easy job, I came up with ideas and the team had to do the hard work of implementation. So true! Our team truly is spectacular!
Our Vision, Mission, and Values state we are a “Spiritual Community”. We interpret this to mean that we assist with looking after the mind, body, and soul of our residents. This is done by our team.
Here is a quick summary of things we are seeing at Ilarion Seniors Residence:
Our Kitchen team provides healthy, nutritious, appealing, homemade meals every day – breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They work long hours to make meal time special.
Our Maintenance Team takes great care of the entire facility, ensuring all rooms and common areas are well-maintained. Repairs and upkeep are completed promptly, our common areas are clean and tidy.
The Assisted Living team looks after residents that need a bit more help with compassion, empathy and understanding.
Our rooms are modern and are in high demand.
The Ilarion Experience (TIE) department provides programming that our tenants enjoy immensely. They are the envy of similar facilities in the city. They provide a variety of programs that bring joy to those that participate; and they do it with a smile. They create great programs that alleviate the feelings of loneliness, helplessness, and boredom. Please see our Facebook page to see examples of what is going on in our building.
The Office team ensures we run smoothly, taking care of all day-to-day operational needs.
I am truly grateful for the great team of employees that we have. They are a pleasure to work with and on behalf of myself and the residents – Thank You!!!
However, there is more! We have great residents. Many of those residents volunteer their personal time to provide leadership and programs that other residents benefit from. They also look after our courtyards with care and dedication. We also have great residents that enrich our daily lives with their humour, kind words, and ideas.
My gratitude goes to the team for their hard work. My gratitude to the residents that inspire us.
Did you know this about our employees?

Strategic
The idea of Ilarion Seniors Residence was first discussed within the Ukrainian Orthodox Community in 1973. The residence was officially opened in 1978. Our forefathers had great vision and have left us with an amazing legacy.
To preserve the Ukrainian Orthodox legacy, traditions, and culture, and move the organization forward, the Board of Directors has been doing long-range strategic planning for many years. This continues and we will be doing a major review and update this fall. We continue to explore ways that we can enhance The Ilarion Experience of our residents. We welcome input from the community.
We continue to work with the Ukrainian Community in Saskatchewan as exemplified by the following:
We welcome the community to attend Church Service in our chapel.
Hosting Bishop Filevich School children at Ilarion Seniors Residence.
Employees volunteering at Green Grove Camp and Camp Tryzub.
Donations of time and money to various not-for-profit Ukrainian Orthodox organizations in accordance with our Policy.
We welcome Ukrainian choral groups to use our facility
I would like to give a big Thank-You to Dr. Jen Budney and her team at The Ukrainian Museum of Canada for their assistance with some projects we are undertaking.
Summer is here and I hope everyone can get out and enjoy our great Saskatchewan summers.
